Somalia declares state of emergency
MOGADISHU (Xinhua) — Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed on Saturday issued a decree imposing state of emergency in areas vacated last week by Islamists and in camps for drought-displaced people in the capital Mogadishu, a presidential statement said.
